G-type main sequence star
The Sun is a G-type star.
The term yellow dwarf to qualify a G-type star is a misnomer, as G-type stars actually range in color from white, for more luminous types like the Sun, to only slightly yellow for the less luminous GV stars.
 Hydrogen-burning star
G-type stars fuse hydrogen for approximately 10 billion years.
 Luminosity class V.
From 0.8 to 1.2 times the mass of the Sun and surface temperatures between 5,300 and 6,000 K.
Represent 7.6% of the stars in our galaxy.
